Nasal Allergy
Nasal Allergy
An allergic reaction that starts when the immune system reacts to harmless substances like pollen, dust mites, mold spores & pollutants. When a person with nasal allergy comes into contact with these allergens, their body releases chemicals like histamines, leading to symptoms such as sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, coughing & postnasal drip. In some cases, nasal allergies can also lead to fatigue, headaches & difficulty sleeping.
Some Conditions of Nasal Allergy:
Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis: It occurs seasonally & is caused by outdoor allergens like pollen from trees and plants.
Perennial Allergic Rhinitis: Caused by year-round allergens, such as dust mites, pet dander or mold.
Allergic Conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the eyes, leading to redness, itching, often associated with nasal allergies.
Sinusitis: Inflammation of the sinuses that occurs due to nasal allergies, leading to facial pain, pressure & congestion.
Postnasal Drip: Mucus from the nose or sinuses drips down the back of the throat, causing coughing or sore throat.
